Title: Sheldon Tapestry Map of Worcestershir
Artist: Unknown artist

Owned by the Bodleian since 1809, the tapestry, woven in wool and silk, is a fine example of cartography and decorative art dating from the 1590s. This section features the northern Cotswolds from Evesham (top left) to Chipping Norton (bottom right). Prominent towards the right centre are the Rollright Stones and Four Shires Stone, both still visible in the landscape today. Weston House, where the tapestry was commissioned to be hung can be seen just above the Rollrights.
